About Patient GPS
I know what it’s like to feel overwhelmed and stressed when faced with a medical crisis.
I’ve been the scared patient, feeling like a deer in the headlights and not knowing what to do. I’ve been the panicked caregiver, worried about how to best look after my loved one. I felt alone and powerless. I had no idea about how to proceed or where to turn for help.
After working in the health care industry for more than 15 years, mainly in the area of oncology, I’ve developed a strong understanding of how to best navigate the increasingly confusing and fragmented nature of medical care. I started out as a patient advocate by helping friends and family members when they had serious medical issues, including cancer. I frequently saw other patients going to their doctor appointments, chemo infusions, surgical procedures, etc., alone. Cancer treatment is particularly complex and it helps to have someone to guide you through it, answering your questions and making your experience as stress-free as possible.
I specialize in working with cancer patients but I’m more than happy to work with anyone who needs help and support in getting their medical needs met. Nobody should have to cope with such a monumental challenge by themselves, and I want to help.
